Cucumber diet

Goal: to lose weight fast

Be aware: this is only the goal of this diet, not necessarily its outcome. Results vary from person to person. Consult your doctor or dietician before starting this (or any other) diet.

The Cucumber diet

There are many different variations of the cucumber diet. Usually, these last between 7-14 days and usually, the claim is that you can lose about a kilo a day.

On the homepage you can compare the cucumber diet with other diets.

Crash diet

The cucumber diet is a typical crash diet. You consume a (very) low amount of calories for a short period of time in order to lose weight as fast as possible.

Cucumber, cucumber salad and cucumber shake

While following the cucumber diet you eat, as expected, a lot of cucumber. You can eat cucumber on its own, but you can also eat it in the form of a cucumber salad (for example: a salad with yoghurt, cucumber, onion, garlic, salt and pepper) or a cucumber shake (for example: apple, cucumber and spinach mixed in a blender).

Protein-rich products and carbohydrates

When following this diet, you eat protein-rich products like nuts, lean meat, eggs and fish. In some variants you can also eat products with a relatively high amount of carbohydrates like brown rice or potatoes.

An example day of the cucumber diet - Breakfast

The day starts with an omelette with vegetables and 2 hard-boiled eggs for breakfast. Between breakfast and lunch you are allowed a snack, for example: peach, apple or some unsalted nuts.

An example day of the cucumber diet - Lunch

For lunch, you are allowed one slice of wheat bread or wholemeal bread. Additionally, you eat cucumber salad. In the afternoon you are allowed a cucumber shake as a snack.

An example day of the cucumber diet - Dinner

For dinner, you are allowed 100 grams of lean meat or 100 grams of fish and 200 grams of vegetables. Later in the evening you are allowed a piece of fruit as a snack.

If you feel hungry in between meals, you can eat raw cucumber(s) or cucumber salad.

Cucumber diet drinks

The different versions of the diet usually recommend drinking (enough) water and tea.
