The Inside Out Diet

Goal: to detox in 4 weeks

Be aware: this is only the goal of this diet, not necessarily its outcome. Results vary from person to person. Consult your doctor or dietician before starting this (or any other) diet.

The Inside Out Diet

The Inside Out Diet is a 4-week detox diet, created by Cathy Wong. A healthy liver, according to Cathy, is the key to being healthy and losing weight. This diet claims to provide a detox of the liver.

Step 1

Step 1 lasts one week and is also the hardest step. You are not allowed to eat dairy and gluten. Eating gluten-free is especially hard. It is found in wheat, oats, rye, barley or crosses of these grains (such as spelt, triticale and durum). Therefore, you are no longer allowed to eat bread, pasta and potatoes, for example.

You do eat fruits, vegetables, proteins and gluten-free grains. You are allowed one cup of coffee per day. In addition, it is recommended by the inventors of this diet that you take supplements when one the diet: essential fatty acids and multivitamins.

Step 2

Step 2 lasts 3 weeks. In the first week of step 2 you can reintroduce dairy and products with gluten into your diet. The idea is that you will reintroduce one product per day (e.g. milk or bread). This, according to Wong, will help identify products that you don't tolerate well.

The last two weeks you follow Wong's recipes with the aim of maintaining your weight and staying healthy. Please note that results vary from person to person.

Recipes

The book has recipes for 28 days. The recipes contain about 1200-1800 calories per day. There are also tips on how to deal with stress, sleep better and relax. The diet does not include vegetarian options.

Be aware
