The Apple diet is a simple diet: you eat an apple before each meal. The idea behind this is that you feel full after having eaten the apple, so you eat less of the following meal.
On the homepage you can compare this diet with other diets.
Eating an apple before each meal should be combined with a healthy diet, according to Tammi Flynn, the author of "The 3-Apple-a-Day Plan" (or the Dutch version: ‘Het Appeldieet’). In her book, Tammi describes a diet with a little more protein and a little less carbohydrates and fats than, for example, the Disk of five.

The diet focuses on weight loss and muscle maintenance. The proteins should help you preserve your muscles. Muscles are important for losing weight, according to Tammi, because they burn a lot of energy. If you lose muscle, you use less energy and losing weight becomes more difficult.
Tammi's books contain, besides information about nutrition and the benefits of apples, various recipes, meal plans, fitness exercises and a step-by-step plan to achieve a better weight.
Consult your doctor or dietician before starting this (or any) diet.
The book (in Dutch) available about Tammi's apple diet is ‘Het appeldieet’. You can also find more information in the books The 3-Apple-a-Day Plan and The 3 Apple a Day GI Diet: The Amazing Superfood for Fast-track Weight Loss.
The Apple diet by Tammi Flynn can be compared to the South Beach diet, a diet in which you eat more protein and less carbohydrates and fats as well.
An example of another diet in which apples play a leading role is the Apple Egg Diet.
