Skinny Guy's Guide

This diet is meant for 'skinny' people who have a lot of trouble gaining weight. The diet (or 'guide') was written by Vince Del Monte.

Eat a lot!

The most important thing with this diet is that you keep eating. Del Monte recommends eating every 2.5 hours (set an alarm clock to remind you to eat).

You should eat your first meal 15-30 minutes after waking up. No later. It is important to make sure you eat hearty. For example, double the breakfast you normally eat now.

From this point on you are supposed to eat (at least) every 2.5 hours. Here too the advise is to double everything you normally eat. It is important that you eat food that is high in calories and high in (slow) carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals and fibre.

Tip: Use large plates, large cups and large cutlery. It may seem weird, but it can make it look like you're eating less. This makes it a little easier, according to Del Monte, to eat so much.

Exercise

The guide recommends that you have at least three meals before you start exercising (in the afternoon or evening).

If you do exercise in the morning, it's important to eat well beforehand. You may only have time to work out in the morning (or you may prefer to do so). A proposed alternative here is to eat a large meal after you exercise.

During exercise you can drink (protein) shakes. If you train a lot with heavy weights, Del Monte recommends a mix of carbohydrates (weight-gainer shake) with a protein shake (2:1 ratio). Take this shake before and after your workout.

Be aware!

This diet is not suitable for everyone. Consult your doctor or dietician before starting this diet, especially in the case of unwanted weight loss.
