One of the best-known versions of the Potato diet is Tim Steele's version. He wrote the book Potato Hack: Weight Loss simplified about his version of the diet.
Steele's potato diet lasts 3 to 5 days and the goal is to lose 3-5 kilos. Please note that this is only the goal, not necessarily the outcome.
In this variant, you eat boiled potatoes only. You eat as many potatoes as necessary to feel full. You are not allowed to use any other products (such as cheese or sauces). Preferably, you do not use any salt either.
The concept behind the diet is that potatoes quickly give you a feeling of satiation, because they contain a lot of starch.
The idea is that you eat less calories than necessary because you feel full quickly. This will make you lose weight. Steele also describes all sorts of effects that potatoes have on the body, including the feeling of hunger and sleep.
Besides Tim Steele's potato diet, there are various other versions of the potato diet. Some last 3 days, others 5-7 days. There are also differences in how you can prepare the potatoes (e.g. fry or steam).
There is also a version of the diet that combines potatoes with yoghurt.
