Raw food diet

Goal: Eat organic and unprocessed foods

Be aware: this is only the goal of this diet, not necessarily its outcome. Results vary from person to person. Consult your doctor or dietician before starting this (or any other) diet.

Raw food diet

This diet is meant, according to its creators, to make you eat healthier. The idea behind it is that heating food destroys certain nutrients.

On the homepage you can compare the raw food diet with other diets.

Raw food

Raw food here means that it has not been prepared (for instance cooked or fried), but also that it is organic and unprocessed.

If you follow this diet, you mainly eat raw fruits, raw vegetables and raw grains. The diet could therefore be suitable for vegetarians and vegans. However, raw meat and raw fish is allowed.

Only raw food?

Some people that decide to follow this diet stick to 100% raw food, but eating like this part-time is also an option.

It is always important that you consume all the right nutrients. Some people that follow the raw food diet try to accomplish this by taking supplements. It is recommended to seek advice from a doctor, dietician or other professional if you want to start this diet.

Be aware!

This diet is not suitable for everyone (for example, it is not suitable for children, pregnant women, elderly people, people with a weak immune system or (chronically) ill people). Consult your doctor or dietician before starting this diet.

Raw food can also cause food poisoning. Cooking or frying usually kills germs, for example. Therefore, it is advised to wash your food thoroughly and avoid eating certain types of food raw (e.g. some types of meat). Do consult a doctor, dietician or other professional about this.

Perhaps the warning says it all: Be aware! This diet is not suitable for everyone (for example, it is not suitable for children, pregnant women, elderly people, people with a weak immune system or (chronically) ill people). In addition, eating raw can cause food poisoning. Normally, you kill germs by boiling or baking, for example. Only plus I see is eating a generous portion of vegetables and fruit.
