The diet consists of 3 different phases. Each phase lasts 5 days, so 15 days in total. During the first phase you only consume smoothies. In the second and third phase you add so called ‘S-meals’ to the diet.
The smoothies used in the diet are shakes that contain carbohydrates, fibre and protein. Examples of smoothies are the 'ruby frosty smoothie', the 'sweet spinach smoothie', the 'Apple jack smoothie' and the 'Apple pie smoothie'.
According to the creator of the diet, the smoothies contain an ideal combination of carbohydrates, fibre and protein to reset your metabolism. This should help you lose weight and detoxify your body.
For the first five days of the diet, you take three smoothies a day. You use them as replacements of your regular breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Breakfast should be a white smoothie, for example the Apple Pie Smoothie. At lunch you take a red shake, for example the "Berry cobbler". Finally, at dinner, you take a green smoothie. This could be the "Sweet spinach smoothie" for example.
In the next 5 days of the diet you take 2 smoothies a day and one S-meal. An S-meal is a so called 'single dish' meal. This can be a salad, a soup or a sandwich.
During the last 5 days of the Body reset diet you take 1 smoothie a day. For the other 2 meals you take an S-meal.
While following the diet you are allowed 2 snacks a day. These preferably contain fibres, proteins and/or healthy fats. An example of such a snack is hummus with raw vegetables.

The number of calories per smoothie depends on the recipe, but is approximately 300 kilocalories. The snacks contain around 150-200 calories and the meals around 350 calories. So the number of calories you take in a day is very low and the diet can therefore be considered a crash diet.
The creators of the diet advice to take 10,000 steps a day. In addition, it is advised to do 2 light exercises of 5 minutes per day.
Consult your doctor or dietician before starting this (or any) diet, especially if you have diabetes.
Harley Pasternak wrote the book 'The body reset diet' together with Laura Moser. There is an accompanying cookbook written by Harley as well.
Examples of other diets that use liquid meals are the Pulve diet, the Mediet programme and the FormaFast diet.
