Eat half diet

based on 1 reviews

Goal: to lose weight

Be aware: this is only the goal of this diet, not necessarily its outcome. Results vary from person to person. Consult your doctor or dietician before starting this (or any other) diet.

The eat half diet, the half meal diet or the ‘just eat half’ diet

The concept of the Eat half diet is very simple: you eat half of what you normally eat. Hence the simple variants of the name of this diet: eat half diet, half meal diet or just eat half diet.

On the homepage you can compare this diet with other diets.

Cut all meals in half

When on the Eat half diet, you eat half of every meal and of every snack as well. So no skipping half of your meals or fasting for halve a day. All meals or snacks should be (more or less) the same as before following this diet, with the same products/ingredients, but half.

Did you eat a bowl of yoghurt for breakfast? Then take half a cup. Do you eat two slices of bread at lunch? Leave one out.

Lose weight

The idea is that you lose weight by eating less, while continuing to eat the same types of products (including snacks).

Drinking

It is important to drink enough water. Other drinks, such as soft drinks or alcoholic drinks, should be halved with this diet. So if you normally drink two glasses of milk, one should be taken out. If you still want to drink enough, you can replace this glass of milk with a glass of water.

Be aware

Consult your doctor or dietician before starting this (or any) diet. The EDH diet is different for everyone, because people eat differently. Depending on how healthy you eat, how complete your diet is and how much you eat, the Eat half diet may or may not be a good idea. So first discuss with your doctor or a dietician whether this is the case.

When your energy intake is lower than your energy consumption, you lose weight. The body then has to draw on reserves to function properly. I think eating half of everything is a bit short-sighted. Then it's mainly about quantity and not quality. An extreme example: If you eat a large portion of fries every evening and then reduce this to a small portion, you might lose weight. But this way, the body is still not getting all the nutrients it needs. Try to have a correct distribution of meals. Ask the advice of a qualified dietician. They can give you concrete tips and tricks!
