The virtual gastric band

Goal: to lose weight

Be aware: this is only the goal of this diet, not necessarily its outcome. Results vary from person to person. Consult your doctor or dietician before starting this (or any other) diet.

The virtual gastric band

The virtual gastric band is not presented as a diet, but as a programme intended to help you lose weight with the help of hypnosis.

You can compare this programme with various diets on the homepage.

Different providers and programmes

Different providers offer different virtual gastric band programmes. These programmes differ in, among other things, online and offline options and individual or group sessions.

The programmes can also make use of e-mails, videos and sound recordings to provide (online) support.

Hypnosis

Hypnosis is described as a human state in which you are more susceptible to suggestions. These suggestions can include changes in behaviour or perspective. If you want to know more about hypnosis, you can find several books with more information here.

The "virtual gastric band" is installed by means of hypnosis. The idea is that, after the hypnosis, the body behaves as if a gastric band has actually been installed, which, for example, should make you feel full faster.

Not suitable for everyone

Some providers of the virtual gastric band indicate that the programme is not suitable for everyone. A BMI lower than 30 and/or insufficient motivation are mentioned as reasons not to participate. The programme is also said to be less suitable for emotional eaters.

Be aware

Consult your doctor or dietician before starting this (or any) diet, especially if you have a high BMI.
